STEM Challenge

Last week we did our first STEM challenge for the year. Our challenge was to construct a table that could hold a pencil for at least 15 seconds. 

We were only allowed one piece of A4 paper, scissors, and glue. 

We started out by planning our design with our team. 

Once we had an idea of how we were going to create it, we got started. 

We found that it was very tricky to get the paper to stand up like a table but we all got there in the end!

Our First Kowhai Assembly

Last Friday morning, the Kowhai Whanau had their first assembly. 

It was wonderful to have some of the other Year 3 and Year 4 classes share their learning with us. 

Well done to Eric and Kavya who both received certificates. Keep up the awesome work!

Happy Valentines Day to all of the Room 13 families! 

We hope you all had a day filled with love. 

We did some paper weaving to create these hearts. Some of us struggled a bit with the weaving but it was great practice for our fine motor skills!

Our First Day!

Today was our first day in Room 13.

We had a wonderful day getting to know each other, meeting the teachers in the Kowhai Whanau and going for a swim in the pool!
