Welcome to Room 13's blog for 2020. We are an energetic Year 3 class and our teacher is Miss Bycroft. We are looking forward to working together and learning lots of exciting and new things this year! Check our blog regularly to see what we have been up to. We would love to read your comments.

Parents - please remember to fill out the google form about your child returning to school next week. It was sent earlier in the week from the Sunnyhills School email. Thank you.
Tom is the winner of the 2 dojo points today!
Well done to Elliot for winning the 2 dojo points today!
We had lots of fun on our google meet yesterday! I will see the rest of you at 1:30 today.
Well done to Vihan who got the two dojo points for his awesome work yesterday!
Here is some of the work he did.
Starting Monday the 17th August we will be doing distance learning.
Please check the class blog every morning to see what I have put up. It might be a video or message from me, or some of your classmate’s work to comment on.
I will email your parents later as to when you are having a Google Meet this week with the login code, most likely Wednesday mid-morning or Thursday afternoon.
I have shared a copy of the Distance Learning slides to your Google drive in your Inquiry folder. This is where you will do all your schoolwork. Distance Learning Slides are under the 'Learning At Home' tab, now on this blog and the Sunnyhills School website.
You can share the work with me when it is finished and I will look at it. I will comment on some of your work and give you feedback.
I expect you to do some of the Reading, Maths, Writing and Toys Inquiry activities on these slides by the end of the week. You can do it in any order you like. A little bit each day is fine.
You all have devices and know how to use them very well because we have learned a lot this year already. If you need help reading the instructions, ask an adult or older sister or brother to help. It does not have to be perfect but always try your best.
If for some reason you have forgotten your google drive email or password your parents can email me and I will send it to them. Remember all of you can access your school drive on any device with this email and password.
Enjoy doing your learning at home and have fun. Remember your GEMS and I will see you soon online. Take care.
Miss Bycroft
Kia ora Room 13,
What an unusual start to our day! I hope you are staying safe at home. For the rest of this week for learning at home, I will post a daily video so we can keep in touch.
If you would like to do some learning at home, you can still access the previous slide decks from the blog and the school website. There are still loads of fun learning activities to do. And of course, it is Maths week and the website is full of fabulous activities that you might like to have a go at. This link is on the blog https://www.mathsweek.co.nz/ and remember to read, read, read!
If we are going to be at home for longer from Monday there will be a new slide deck and I will sort out a Google Meet timetable. Look after yourself, do some exercise, practice mindfulness and of course use your GEMS!
Love Miss Bycroft
On Tuesday Room 13 went with Room 11 to the Howick Historical Village.
We had such a great time exploring activities and games that were played in the past!
Thank you so much to our parent helpers who came along for the day.
